It is the start of the holiday market season! We will be at First Chance Craft Fair in Sidney BC from 10am-5pm on Saturday, November 2nd and from 10am-4pm on Sunday November 3rd. You will find a fresh supply of our famous herbal infused honeys, artisan herbal teas, herbal extracts, and herb seeds.

Our local holiday markets and craft fairs are treasure troves in which to find high-quality, hand-crafted locally made goods. So much of what will be on hand cannot be found in stores and will make very precious presents for your loved ones!

Our 2013 organic garlic crop is cured, cleaned, and ready for sale.

Our main crop is the NEW variety ‘Little Saanich Mountain’, pictured in the photo above. White and light-purple streaked heads are smooth and medium sized with 7-8 uniform deep-magenta papered cloves inside. Flavour is full, rich and spicy. As the name suggests, the ‘Little Saanich Mountain’ variety was created right here on the Saanich Peninsula, making it specially adapted to our local growing conditions. Started from true seed six years ago, this variety contains new vigour and adaptability not found in some of the older varieties. We also have our ‘Elephant’ garlic, and limited quantities of ‘Russian Red’ and ‘Chinese Purple’.

Stock up for winter! We are offering discounts when you purchase two pounds or more. Cured garlic will keep until Spring without any special treatment. Store your garlic for the winter in a breathable mesh bag or burlap sack in a dark cupboard, it is as easy as that to enjoy local garlic all winter long.

Come live and learn at Ravenhill this Summer/Fall.

We are looking for hard working, self-reliant Wwoofers or Interns to come work and live on the farm for three or four week intervals, over the course of August, September, and October 2013. If you are interested in working with herbs, organic gardening, seed-saving, herbal medicine making, caring for farm animals, and homesteading in general, then this is a great opportunity to get your hands in the dirt and learn from an experienced grower and herbalist. We provide room and board in exchange for twenty to twenty-five hours per week work on the farm. The work asked of you will be diverse, reasonable, and come with many opportunities for guidance, learning, and self-direction.

Herbal Medicine Making Workshop Pt 1 & 2

This informative hands-on workshop takes place at Ravenhill Herb Farm on two Saturdays one week apart.

Students will begin each morning of the workshop in the gardens meeting the plants they will be working with, harvesting fresh herbs and preparing them for medicine making. After a short lunch break, the students will spend the afternoons engaged in hands-on herbal medicine making activities.

Take home all medicines made in class.
